I am Stuart Eastland, a professional IT developer and keen amateur sailor. I have
worked in the IT industry for over 20 years, and I currently spend most of my time
developing commercial browser based applications.
I began sailing Bosun dinghies at Cobnor Point, West Sussex whilst at school.
I later spent several years windsurfing and then briefly owned a Fireball dinghy
which I sailed at Queen Mother Reservoir, Datchet. During a period living
in Austrailia, I started to sail cruising boats, initially crewing on "Agent 88",
a Young 88 sailed from Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Pittwater. On returning to
the UK, I continued racing on "Typet", a Sigma 33, and "Dauntless", a Daring keelboat.
I finally got fed up of getting soaked on the foredeck, and bought my own boat,
"Jump Too" an MG Spring 25. I currently own "Shamu", an Oceanis 321 which
I sail from Chichester Marina, West Sussex. I can be found pottering about
in the Solent most weekends and usually venture across the Channel to Brittany for
an extended cruise during the summer.
